The band Arrabio, from the central Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus, will participate in the Sled Island Music and Art Festival in Calgary, Canada from June 17th through 20th.
The project of the Saiz Brothers Young Artists Association in the province of Sancti Spíritus describes itself as a hardcore and “guajiro” project, “guajiro” meaning from the Cuban countryside. Band director, Daimel Cuervo, reported that thanks to the Solidarity Rock Project, his band will attend the event along with more than 300 rock band and rock artists from all over the world.Guitarist, William García, has commented that the band will give a concert titled Cuban Punk Invasion along with other Canadian rock groups on June 15th.
Arrabio, which has already attended the Canadian festival five times, was established in the colonial city of Trinidad in 2001. The rock band from the central province of Villa Clara, Adictox, will join the Trinitarian musicians at the rock gathering.
