Declaring Son Cuba’s intangible cultural heritage was just the first step, said Adalberto, and stressed that the campaign has now begun to ask UNESCO to include it on its list of intangible heritage of humanity.

Adalberto said that May 8th --Cuban Son Day- in 2022 will coincide with International Mother’s Day, which is celebrated in Cuba every year on the second Sunday of May.
