Petra Röhler, cultural attaché of German embassy in Cuba

Havana, May 13 (RHC)-- Cultural attaché of the German embassy in Cuba Petra Röhler has been presented with the Cuban National Culture Distinction in recognition for her personal contribution to cultural exchanges between the European country and Caribbean State in areas like literature, music, stage performance and dance.

Cuban Culture Minister Alpidio Alonso himself presented the German intellectual with the high distinction, during a ceremony held Wednesday.

Petra Röhler serves also as coordinator of cultural and educational programs of the Cuba Office of the Goethe Institute, a post she has held for 40 years, promoting festivals and other events –all aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Germany and Cuba.
