Havana, June 16 (RHC)-- The 12th season of Cuban film takes place in Albacete, Spain between June 14th and 19th, dedicated to 61st anniversary this year of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC).
The season includes the screening of Cuban emblematic films, exchanges between Spanish and Cuban filmmakers and film lovers in both nations, as well as exhibitions and homage-paying actions.
Organized by the Amigos de Cuba en Albacete Cultural Association, the event will include the exhibition of the films ‘Inocencia’ (Innocence by Alejandro Gil, from 2018), ‘Ya no es antes’ (by Lester Hamlet, from 2016), ‘Vestido de novia’ (‘Wedding dress’ by Marilyn Solaya, from 2015), ‘Venecia’ by Kiki Álvarez, from 2014) and ‘Vampiros en La Habana’ (Vampires in Havana) by Juan Padrón, from 1985.
The Cuban short films ‘Los amantes’ by Alan González, from 2018) and ‘Habana me matas’ by Patricia de Luna, from 2019, will be exhibited also.
The event’s program also includes the show “Cena de cine”, featuring Cuban filmmaker Tony Romero as a guest.
A film posters exhibition was inaugurated on June 14th, in the framework of the Cuban film season. Entitled ‘Cuban Film vs. Covid-19’, it comprises 15 works by six Cuban designers, who recreate Cuban film poster classics, as if they had been created today amidst the pandemic.
Other proposals include also debates on the films selected for this season and the presentation and sale of books, albums and other promotional material of the Amigos de Cuba en Albacete Cultural Association, which promotes cultural exchange between our two nations.
