Havana, August 5 (RHC)-- The organizing committee of the International Festival of Electronic Music Eyeife calls on musicians, Djs and musical producers aged 35 or younger, who reside in Cuba to participate in the 5th electronic music competition.
The jury will select those works that best combine Cuban genres, styles and rhythms, reflecting the strong Caribbean and African influences on the work of contemporary Cuban musicians.
Entries will be received in mp3 or mp4 format at the headquarters of PM Records in Havana or via e-mail to the organizing committee.
Dateline is September 3, 2021.
The jury is made up of renowned Cuban musicians, National Music Prize laureate Edesio Alejandro, Director of Eyeife Festival Emanuel Blanco, musical producer Iván Lejardi and artist Mauricio Abad.
The winners will perform during the 5th edition of Eyeife Festival, to be held from December 9th through the 12th.
Organized by PM Records and the Cuban Music Institute, with support from La Rueda Productions and the Cuban Ministry of Culture, the event will be held virtually again this year due to the complex situation in Cuba and the world generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
First held in 2017, previous editions saw audiences of over 30,000 people gather at the Higher Institute of Arts, Havana’s Metropolitan Park and Fábrica de Arte Cubano, for a series of shows that brought together different manifestations of the Cuban and foreign music scene.
