Havana, Oct. 12 (RHC)—The New Press has added a book on Cuban women to its vast catalog. It is the title ‘En Busca de un espacio: historia de las mujeres en Cuba,’ by Cuban writer Julio César González-Pagés.
Considered among the top 20 publishing houses in the United States, The New Press, based in New York, will issue a new edition of the volume in English, offering American readers a new chance to learn about Cuban women’s reality under the Revolution.
First released in 2003, by Ciencias Sociales publishing house, copies of the text are treasured in more than 50 universities around the world, including Harvard, Yale and Columbia in the US, as well as Universidad Complutense of Madrid, in Spain, Sorbona in Paris, France, among others.
‘En Busca de un espacio: historia de las mujeres en Cuba’ inspired a documentary film of the same title by filmmaker Marilyn Solaya and laid the foundations for the cultural project TODAS, which highlights the role of women within Cuban society.
