Acosta Danza embarks on international tour
Havana, Feb. 9 (RHC)—Cuba’s Acosta Danza dance troupe, led by International ballet superstar Carlos Acosta, has embarked on a UK tour with their latest show ‘100% Cuban”, which had its world premiere just last week at Avellaneda Hall of Teatro Nacional de Cuba.
Sponsored by Dance Consortium, an association of 20 big theatres in the United Kingdom, the tour includes performances at Sadler’s Wells in London, Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, Hull New Theatre, Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury and Theatre Royal Plymouth on March 4th and 5th.
Dancers with Acosta Danza will delight their audiences with the pieces ‘Híbrido’ (Hybrid) by the award-winning Cuban Norge Cedeño, and ‘Liberto’ by Acosta Danza dancer and choreographer Raul Reinoso.
From the United Kingdom, Acosta Danza will travel to France, where they will perform at Chaillot theatre, in Paris.
Acosta Danza has garnered an unrivalled reputation for creating work that combines both classical and contemporary genres effortlessly, infused with Cuba’s rich musical and dance influences. Dancers with the company have become ambassadors of the culture of a country that has made dance one of its main identity features.
