Havana, Feb. 10 (RHC)—Cuba praised as ‘decisive’ the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to the Caribbean island state in confronting Covid-19.
Cuba’s representative to the United Nations, Yuri Gala, highlighted the donation of an oxygen plant, over 1.3 million of disposable syringes for Cuba’s national vaccination campaign and other health inputs, as well as more than 14 thousand 300 PCR test kits, water storage containers, water dispensers and antibacterial gel.
The Cuban diplomat stressed that with UNICEF support, Cuba implemented a national response plan, which has contributed to strengthening the capacities of Cuban health institutions in their confrontation against the pandemic.
Ambassador Yuri Gala renewed Cuba’s pledge to continue strengthening cooperation ties with UNICEF toward improving health, education, protection and the general well-being of children on the island and around the world.
