Exhibition 'Sin máscaras ante el espejo'
Havana, Feb. 18 (RHC)-- The group exhibition “Sin máscaras ante el espejo”, was inaugurated at La Moderna gallery, in the framework of the 14th Havana Biennial, running through April 30th.
It comprises works by 19 artists, using different visual art techniques and styles, but focused on one same theme –the Covid-19 pandemic and its effect on people’s lives.
The exhibition then mixes lithography, digital photography, installation and caricature.
Artists include Leysi O´Farril, whose artwork deals with freedom of expression and gender violence. Artist Ángel Castillo, for his part, reflects in a convincing way, the impact of Covid-19 on Cuban reality and the human suffering caused by the loss of lives.
First held in 1984, the Havana Biennial is the largest, most important visual arts event in Cuba, organized by the Wifredo Lam Center for Contemporary Art.
