La Colmenita Children's Theater Company to offer performances in hurricane-affected neighborhoods

Havana, October 7 (RHC)-- The Cuban children's theater company La Colmenita, directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata, will offer 14 performances in some of the communities in the western provinces of Pinar del Río and Artemisa that were hit by Hurricane Ian.

According to Cremata, as a preamble to the Day for Cuban Culture, the group will join its counterpart projects La Colmenita de Romerillo and La Colmenita de la Policía Nacional Revolucionaria to bring joy to those territories affected by the meteorological phenomenon.

The Popular Councils Hermanos Cruz, La Coloma, El Secadero, San Juan y Martínez, Las Ovas, Río Seco and other neighborhoods of Pinar del Río will receive the cultural show starring children who will offer their art in the form of encouragement, support and optimism.

The theater director affirmed that such initiative will also be useful to encourage the formation in values of the members of the group, which was declared Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children's Fund in 2007.

As in the past, the dances and songs, the laughter, the happiness, the messages and the hundreds of emotions provoked by their performances will come with them and their good art, ready to comfort the spirit and nourish hope.

According to the general director of Cultural Policies of the Ministry of Culture, Lizette Martinez, in addition to the group led by Cremata, the dance company Ballet Revolution, led by renowned Cuban choreographer Roclan, will join the tour.

According to Martínez, more than 140 artistic brigades are part of the initiative with proposals that already include 600 activities in 59 affected communities and an audience of more than 13 thousand people.
