 CD / Album Sandando Deudas

Havana, May 12 (RHC) -- As the National Son Day celebrations are about to come to an end, the Cuba Pavilion in Havana reserves for today the presentation of the album "Saldando Deudas", by music producer and Maestro de Juventudes Joaquín Betancourt.

Aspiring for the Cubadisco 2023 award, this phonogram features the members of the Joven Jazz Band directed by Betancourt, winner of the National Music Award.

This volume includes emblematic themes of the Cuban danceable pentagram of the 60's, 70's and 80's of the last century.

"Saldando Deudas" is an album recorded at the Abdala studios and brings together exponents of the popular music of these times, paying tribute to important groups that made up the soundtrack of more than a generation of Cubans who love the rhythms and genres of this land.

According to Cubarte, a Cuban culture portal, the title corresponds to the intention of settling, in a certain way, debts that musicians owe to their predecessors.

Among the particularities of this phonogram, aspiring to the Cubadisco award in the Danceable Music category, stands out the Jazz Band sonority, the basis of the songs arranged according to contemporary times.

Popular songs such as Que me digan feo, popularized by Pacho Alonso, or Un tipo como yo, by NG La Banda, are just some of those that are revered in this tribute to the greats, such as Betancourt, Maestros de Juventudes. (Source:PL)
