Havana, June 1 (RHC) -- Cuban artists are getting their sounds ready to welcome the second edition of the filin festival, which under the title Bohemia Mía will take place in Havana from June 21 to 23.
With the purpose of exalting the value of this genre within the Cuban musical heritage, the program of activities of these three days will be nourished with colloquiums, book presentations, concerts and downloads with artists of reference within the Cuban romantic song.
Directed by singer and composer Osdalgia Lesmes, the event will take place at important Havana venues, including the Artex Entre Dos Cultural Center, BuleBar 66, Arte Habana and Bar Restaurant El Monseñor.
Under the slogan El filin está en ti, the Festival dedicates its next edition to the creators, composers, performers and instrumentalists who cultivated this manifestation, among them, the outstanding José Antonio Méndez, César Portillo de la Luz and Ángel Díaz.
This musical genre native to the Caribbean island emerged in the late 1940s with expressive elements of the romantic troubadour song, in which emotions are mixed in order to return a product with its own harmonic interweaving and a peculiar melodic ease.
