Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco tours the US
Havana, July 5 (RHC)-- Popular Cuban band Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco has embarked on an international tour with performances in several US cities, celebrating the band’s 30th anniversary.
General producer of the ongoing tour Daniel Donayre, told Prensa Latina news agency that the Cuban musicians will perform in New York this coming Friday. He anticipated a capacity-audience concert, given the popularity of the Cuban band and Cuban culture in general.
Manolito Simonet y Su Trabuco, already performed in Miami, where it was well received despite attempts to boycott their presentation, said Donayre.
‘Most Cubans there love their country, their culture and their artists,’ he stressed.
In all, Manolito y su Trabuco will perform 12 concerts in the United States, notably in Los Ángeles and San Francisco (in California), also in Seattle (Washington) and Atlanta (Georgia).
Titles include ‘La boda de Belén’, ‘Y Todavía No’, ‘Te Dejo Libre’, ‘Saliditas contigo’, ‘El Águila’, ‘Locos por mi Habana’ and ‘Tú me dijiste mentiras’, among many more from the band’s repertoire.
Led by composer, arranger and pianist Manolito Simonet, the band Manolito Simonet y Su Trabuco is one of the greatest exponents of Cuban son music.
