Guantanamo, February 4 (RHC)-- Cuban troubadour Eduardo Sosa is in critical condition after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke on Monday, February 3, during his participation in the Guantánamo-Baracoa Theater Crusade.
According to the Cuban Institute of Music, the artist was immediately treated in the neurosurgery service of the Dr. Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital in Guantánamo, where it was decided to perform surgery.
The operation, performed on Tuesday, February 4, was successful, and although the patient's hemodynamics are stable, his condition remains critical.
Eduardo Sosa currently remains under medical observation, and his progress will be updated in the coming hours.
The troubadour, recognized for his contribution to traditional Cuban music and his commitment to community cultural projects, participated in the most recent edition of the Guantánamo-Baracoa Theater Crusade, an initiative that brings art to mountainous areas in the east of the country.
In its statement, the Cuban Music Institute thanked artists, friends and the people in general for their messages of concern and support for Sosa, an emblematic figure of national culture.
