Fifty three copies of the most emblematic works at the Museum of Prado in Madrid, Spain, are on display at Old Havana’s Royal Force Castle.
Thousands of Cubans and international visitors have been able to watch the exhibition hung from the Royal Force Castle’s iron fences. Sponsored by the Museum of Prado, the Embassy of Spain, the Spanish International Cooperation and Development Agency and the Havana Historian Office, the high fidelity and natural sized copies review the history of the museum’s collections and the main pictorial schools represented at the important art institution in the Spanish capital. As one of the main educational actions associated to the exhibition is the organized tours guided by Havana University History of Art students.
