Havana, January 27 (RHC) – A bantam-age baseball team from the locality of St. Albert, Alberta province, Canada, will arrive in Cuba next Saturday on a goodwill tour, during which they'll play local teams and learn about sports and life in the Caribbean island.
Thirteen teenage players will arrive in Varadero next Saturday and the sporting and cultural adventure starts with Sunday’s doubleheader in Cardenas. They'll also play two games in Matanzas and the final game is February 6th in Havana.
They are the fourth St. Albert Minor Baseball Association team since 2004 to combine baseball with acts of kindness with donations of baseball uniforms and equipment, plus other supplies to the Cuban players.
All the players worked together on various fundraising projects to make the trip possible.
