No golds in Tae-Kwon-Do for Cuba

Lima, July 30 (RHC) – Cuban 2-time World Tae-Kwon-Do champion Rafael Alba defeated this Monday Mexican Carlos Sansores in the Semi-Finals of the sport in the Lima 2019 Pan-American Games. In a rematch of this year´s World Championship Finals in Manchester, England, Alba won the bout by a score of 33-25.  World champion in Puebla 2013 and Manchester 2019, Alba faced in the Tae-Kwon-Do Finals in Lima American Jonathan Healy, who the Cuban had defeated earlier this year in Manchester.  Rafael Alba, who won the gold medal four years ago in Toronto 2015, could not validate his title against Healy, who  took home the crown in the +80 kg division with a score of 13 to 6.  

Also this Monday, Jose Angel Cobas defeated Puerto Rican Barbosa in the Bronze Medal contest while Arletys Acosta did the same against Argentinian Alexis Arnoldt to earn two more Bronze medals for Cuba.
