Matanzas wins third game in baseball play-offs
Havana, March 10 (RHC)-- In an interesting duel with a predominance of pitching, Matanzas showed today its total disposition not to surrender its crown and defeated Las Tunas by a score of 1 to 0, in the second semi-final of the LX National Baseball Series.
The José Antonio Huelga Stadium hosted the attractive challenge from the mound between starters Renner Rivero (MTZ) and Alejandro Meneses (LTU), who barely allowed any liberties and always took the important first out until the seventh inning.
In that episode came the only run of the game that decided the game in favor of the Cocodrilos, when Yadir Drake, who was dropped from the lineup from the fourth to the sixth inning due to his poor pitching skills, hit a double and Eduardo Blanco gave the decisive hit, both against Meneses.
With this result, the Las Tunas Cocodrilos have lost the lead and now the Matanzas Leñadores are 2-1 in the match.
