PSG-Manchester City
Paris, September 28 (RHC/PL)-- Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) hosts Manchester City on Tuesday in this capital in a rematch of the Champions League of European soccer, after the victory of the English club in the semifinals of last season.
The nearly 50,000 seats at the Parc des Princes will be few tonight for the most anticipated match of the second day of the Champions League group stage, between two teams favored to lift the 'orejona' cup for the first time in their history.
PSG expects to field its luxury trident Lionel Messi-Neymar-Kylian Mbappé, but the red-and-blue manager, Mauricio Pochettino, preferred not to confirm yesterday the return of the Argentine star to the pitch after a knee injury that kept him out of the last two Ligue 1 games.
Messi, as well as star Italian midfielder Marco Verratti, trained on Sunday and Monday without problems, so both should be in the squad for the Champions League Group A match, in which City debuted with a drubbing over Leipzig and PSG were held to a 1-1 draw by understated Brugge.
At the press conference the day before, Pochettino and the 'Citizens' coach, Josep Guardiola, showed respect for their opponents and predicted a hard-fought challenge.
Guardiola acknowledged the individual quality of the Parisians and in particular of their attacking trident, assuring that their answer will be in their collective play.
