Cuban athletes to the Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021.

Havana, November 4 (RHC/ACN)-- Cuban athletes in seven sports, including boxing, ratified Thursday in Havana their commitment to compete with dignity in the First Pan American Junior Games, to be held from November 25 to December 5 in Cali, Colombia.

Along with the boxers, athletes from cycling, swimming, triathlon, artistic swimming, diving and sailing, as well as coaches and directors, took part in the first dignity event held at the José Martí Memorial, in the Revolution Square of the same name.

At that historic site, diver Anisley Garcia and artistic swimmer Andy Manuel Avila laid a wreath in front of a bust of National Hero José Martí, located inside the facility.

Also in this activity, a representation of the delegation signed the book of dignity, which symbolizes the fulfillment of the commitment, dedication, respect and fidelity to the homeland.

In the emotional meeting, the captain of the boxing team Rodny Alvarez Rojas received the Cuban flag from Suniel Sosa Cordero, head of the International Relations Department of the National Committee of the Young Communist League (UJC).

In turn, the boxer himself handed the signed book of dignity to Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder).

We are very well prepared and the seven boxers are going to Cali with the objective of achieving the same number of medals, Alvarez Rojas told the Cuban News Agency.

Likewise, another exponent of this combat sport, Luis Francisco Reinoso, in charge of reading the delegation's commitment, expressed that they will do the impossible to deserve the applause of the fans and will honor the Homeland in every competition scenario.

We will be an expression of the values inspired by fair play and beyond the medals we will compete with total dedication, he said.

For his part, Sosa Cordero conveyed a special greeting from Aylín Álvarez García, first secretary of the UJC, and urged them to be worthy representatives of the Cuban people, always very attentive to the sports results of their athletes.

Enjoy with much love the experience they will live in the I Pan American Junior Games in Cali, as the motto they will take to that event says "Delivery and Enjoyment...A shared dream," he said.

David Lahera, an official of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, as well as other Inder directors were also present at the dignity event.
