Havana, November 6 (JIT)-- Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella presided over the second Dignity Active of the Cuban delegation that will attend the First Junior Pan American Games of Cali 2021, scheduled from November 25 to December 5.

The meeting with baseball, handball, karate and taekwondo athletes took place at the José Martí Memorial, at the Plaza de la Revolución, in the presence of Inder president Osvaldo Vento Montiller.

Baseball player Andrys Pérez and handball player Liliamnis Rosabal placed a wreath in front of the bronze figure of José Martí, apostle of Cuban independence.

Frank Abel Álvarez Díaz, pitcher from Pinar del Río, read the athletes' commitment, which emphasized the duty to represent and defend the homeland with dignity.

A representation of each sport signed the commitment books which were then handed over to Perdomo Di-Lella, Vento Montiller and David Lahera, the latter an official of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.

The central words of the ceremony were given by Dilberto Manuel González, member of the National Bureau of the Young Communist League. The leader highlighted the support of the organization to this delegation and the confidence that all of them will enjoy and fulfill their dreams in the competitions.

Perdomo Di-Lella gave the national ensign to representatives of these sports, as a sign of the pride and confidence that the nation places in them.

The artistic touch was provided by the Clave de Sol Community Vocal Project, from the Havana municipality of La Lisa, and by Duani Ramos, lead voice of the Moncada Group.
