Two Cubans will compete in Euroleague of Aquatic Polo
Havana, November 18 (RHC)-- Cuba's Mayelin Bernal and Aliannis Ramirez, Olympia Kocise's mainstays, will participate with the Slovakian champion club in the Euroleague of Water Polo, in the qualifying round among 25 teams distributed in Rome, Athens, Berlin and Porto.
In the Portuguese city of Porto, Olympia Kocise will face tomorrow at noon (local time) Ekipe Orizzonte of Italy and at 8:00 p.m. CA Pacense of Portugal; on Saturday they will compete against Astralpool Sabadell of Spain (5:00 p.m.) and on Sunday against Ethnikos Piraeus of Greece (10:00 a.m.).
The Slovakian team has already confirmed the participation of the two Cubans in the event, through press releases on the official website and social networks of the club, three-time champion of the Slovakian League and four-time holder of the Slovakian Cup.
Joined the team last February, Bernal and Ramírez became the mainstays of the formation, with a strong offensive vocation and great support in all the collective dynamics.
The Cubans have already played in a tournament of European champions, the Danube League, in Szentes, Hungary, where Olympia finished in fourth place on June 6, with the contribution of 20 goals by Bernal and 13 by Ramirez in four marathon days between squads of world water polo powers.
