José Yáñez Ordaz Awards presented to sports scientists
Havana, November 20 (RHC)-- Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella and INDER President Osvaldo Vento Montiller presented the annual INDER José Yáñez Ordaz 2021 Science, Technology, Innovation and Environment Award to a group of outstanding sports scientists.
As part of the Physical Culture and Sports Day, nine exponents were honored for their performance in the categories of Innovator, Publications, Best Scientific Thesis, Young Researcher, Greatest Social Impact, Greatest Economic Impact and Life Work. Perdomo Di-Lella awarded for his innovations to Doctor in Pedagogical Sciences José Antonio Díaz del Rey, from the University of Physical Culture and Sports (UCCFD), and for his publications to M.Sc. Jesús Ríos Garit, from the Center of Sports Medicine of Villa Clara.
It also honored for the best scientific thesis, the doctors in Sciences Alfredo Ríos Fuentes, from the Center for Sports Research, and Alfredo Quintana Díaz, from the UCCFD; and as Young Researcher, the M.Sc. and Licentiate in Psychology Anelin Dayris Rodríguez Olivera, from the Institute of Sports Medicine. The Social Impact Award went to the Center for the Study of Physical Activity, Sports and Health Promotion (CEADES) of the UCCFD, which was received by its president, Ardy Rafael Rodríguez García.
The head of Inder presented the award for Greatest Economic Impact to Orlando Pedro Suarez Perez, Hermanos Saiz University, Pinar del Rio, and the Lifetime Achievement Award to Ana Maria Morales Ferrer, UCCFD, and Maria Elena Guardo Garcia, Faculty of Physical Culture, Camilo Cienfuegos University, Matanzas.
This Friday, Physical Culture and Sports Day was celebrated throughout Cuba and the IX International Convention on Physical Activity and Sports (Afide 2021) was closed after three days of intense exchange of knowledge among more than 1,200 national experts (record) and 600 foreigners who met for the first time online.
Next Sunday, the XXXV edition of Marabana will be held in a 13-kilometer circuit, starting on Monserrate Avenue, in front of 13 de Marzo Park, next to the Museum of the Revolution, and closing at the Sports City Coliseum.
