Mijaín López does not rule out competing in Paris 2024

Havana, November 24 (RHC)-- Greco-Roman wrestler Mijaín López enjoys his four Olympic crowns, but does not rule out the possibility of competing in Paris 2024.

The "Giant of Herradura" from Pinar del Rio stressed that his results are due to the consecration during 29 years of sports career and the support of family, friends and coaches, who during his athletic career have guided him along the right path.

Regarding his possible participation in the next Olympic Games, he expressed that "it is a very serious decision, which has not yet been taken".

In this regard, he added that he would arrive at the Parisian event at the age of 43, and although he recalled that he has not suffered many injuries, he considers it better to say goodbye to active sport in high rather than low.

"We have to wait a bit to decide if we are going for the fifth title," said the best exponent of wrestling in Olympic history.

On the other hand, Lopez valued as very good the health of the Greco wrestling in Cuba, "with many quality young figures, including the Havana-born Oscar Pino, called to be his replacement and about whom he expressed: "He has the necessary tools to impose his class.

He has already won three medals in world championships and this shows his stability and talent".
