Australia agrees to postpone the expulsion of the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic
Sydney, January 6 (RHC)-- Australia agreed Thursday to postpone the expulsion from the country of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, reports AFP, citing his lawyer. The athlete's expulsion has now been postponed until Monday, when an Australian court will make a final decision on the appeal filed by his legal team.
Earlier, Djokovic, who was scheduled to compete in the Australian Open, had his visa revoked because he "had failed to provide appropriate evidence to meet the entry requirements" in that country.
Apparently, the tennis player, who is not vaccinated against covid-19, was trying to enter the country with a visa that does not allow medical exemptions, according to media reports.
