Havana, January 13 (RHC)-- The president of the International Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), Riccardo Fraccari arrived Thursday in Cuba on a working visit and for the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the National Series.

The visit of the Italian executive has among its objectives the signing of an agreement between the Cuban Federation and the company TeamMate, specialized in means and implements for the practice of this discipline.

According to the article published in the digital media Jit, an informative organ of the Cuban Sports Institute, Fraccari will evaluate with the Cuban sports authorities the possibilities of creating the National Baseball Academy under the auspices of the WBSC.

Both parties will examine ways to hold international events in the largest Antillean Island, as well as a Development Project for Baseball Five, support for the Cuban Softball Academy and investments in the Batos Company to produce media and implements.

As part of his work agenda, Fraccari also plans to hold meetings with sports authorities, press conferences and to attend the Industriales-Granma game at the Latinoamericano for the 60th anniversary of the inauguration of the First National Baseball Series (January 14, 1962).

The event took place at the then called Estadio del Cerro, with a double game between the teams of Azucareros and Oriente, as well as those of Occidente and Habana.
