Cuban Jasiel Rivero could rejoin Eurocup basketball tournament today
Havana, January 25 (RHC)-- Cuban Jasiel Rivero could rejoin his Spanish club Valencia Basket today in the eleventh round of the Eurocup basketball tournament, a tournament that in terms of quality is only behind the Euroleague in the Old Continent.
Rivero, who tested positive for COVID-19 on the 17th, would be eligible to play if the PCR test is negative, a situation similar to that of his teammates Klemen Prepelic, Xabi López-Arostegui, Bojan Dubljevic and Jaime Pradilla.
That possibility exists, but we will have to wait until the last minute to know if the Valencians will be able to count on those five players, according to several Spanish media.
The Taronja team has seven wins and three losses in the tournament, the same record as its opponent on Tuesday, Buducnost Voli Podgorica, from Montenegro.
The match will be played at the Fuente de San Luis Pavilion, known as La Fonteta, starting at 2:30 p.m. Cuban time.
Valencia Basket will seek in this match to extend its streak of three consecutive wins in the Eurocup, where with four titles it is the team with the largest number of trophies.
Likewise, with the support of their fans, they will try to avenge what happened in the first match, when they lost 70-71 in their visit to Montenegrin lands, last October 26.
