Havana, May 14 (RHC)-- The Cuban national team was crowned champion of the First Caribbean Baseball Cup (f) on Friday, after defeating the Dominican Republic in the final game with a score of 5-3.
Both teams gave their all on the field to win the trophy, but there could only be one winner, and in this case it was the Cubans who had the better performance and excellent work by pitcher Janet Cruz, who walked the entire route and allowed only three runs.
This concludes a tournament in which the Cubans, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans showed that the region has teams ready for greater challenges and in the case of the champions, it is a breath of fresh air because in recent times baseball has been indebted to its demanding fans.
