Mexico City, May 20 (PL)-- The six Cuban boxers who will face professionals this Friday -five Mexicans and one Colombian- aspire to win all the fights in the ring of Palenque de la Feria de San Marcos, Aguascalientes.

Since their arrival in Mexico last Sunday and their transfer by land to that state in the central zone of the country, they have created a lot of expectation due to the long and important history of the sport of fists on the island, but this is the first time in 62 years that they will do it in the rented arena.

All the fights will be six rounds, something not new for the Cuban fighters, who already have the recent experience of the World Series in which they fought in five episodes.

In addition, there is also as a precedent the performance last year in the same venue of the Palenque in similar conditions, although on that occasion it was an exhibition, as it was part of the preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Tonight's card will be in super feather (130 lbs): Osvel Caballero (CUB) vs Joshman Reyes (MEX), super lightweight (140 lbs): Lazaro Alvarez (CUB) vs Francisco Mercado (MEX), super welter (154 lbs): Roniel Iglesias (CUB vs Brandon Perez (MEX).

In super middleweight (168 lbs): Yoenlis Hernandez (CUB) vs Octavio Sandoval (MEX), semi-complete (175 lbs): Arlen Lopez (CUB) vs Fernando Galvan (MEX), and cruiserweight (200 lbs): Julio Cesar La Cruz (CUB) vs Deivis Cásseres (COL).

The Cubans hope to get the better part because they are boxers with very similar backgrounds and a very similar experience profile.

We are going to witness a historic event. I don't remember a debut of four Olympic medalists in one night, said Gerardo Saldivar, director of Golden Ring Promotions, the company that organizes the Aguascalentina billboard.

The president of the Cuban Boxing Federation, Alberto Puig, said they have liked Aguascalientes as a base to prepare because the people treat them well and they have found facilities with the local sports leaders.

He told the press that when they were here last year, before the Olympic Games and the World Championship, we prepared with the professional boxing line-up because we were going to meet fighters similar to the professionals.

Although the World Boxing Council (WBC) does not participate as organizer, the Mexico City-based organization will participate in today's event and will provide the judges.

Its president, Mauricio Sulaimán, said that in Mexico everything was opened with a historic event in Aguascalientes last year, prior to the Olympics, and it is ratified now.
