Havana, June 5 (RHC)-- Three athletes will represent Cuba in the Diamond League of athletics to be held tomorrow in Rabat, Morocco, in what will be the fourth stop of this strong competition this year.

Long jumper Maykel Massó, winner of the bronze medal in the summer event in the Japanese capital, will be there, along with Liadagmis Povea and Leyanis Pérez, both in the triple jump.

In the case of Massó, he will be one of the eight entertainers of an event in which the Greek Miltiadis Tentoglu, Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020, will participate.

On May 31, the 23-year-old Santiago native won the long jump in the 61st edition of the traditional athletic meeting Golden Shoes, held in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

There, in Czech territory, he triumphed with 8.14 meters (m), which is his best mark of the current outdoor season.

Leyanis Pérez and Liadagmis Povea arrived at this event after having won the gold and silver medals, respectively, at the Ibero-American Athletics Championship held on May 22 in Alicante, Spain.

In that event, the young Leyanis, champion in the I Pan American Junior Games of Cali, Colombia, in 2021, won the title with a personal record of 14.58 m; while her teammate finished second with 14.41 m.

According to the official website of the Diamond League, eight competitors are registered in the triple jump, including Portugal's Patricia Mamona, silver medalist in the five rings in the Japanese capital.
