Havana, July 28 (RHC) - Supported by its powerful serve and attack, the Cuban volleyball team achieved its first victory in the World Challenger by defeating Chile 3-0, in a tournament played in South Korea that grants only one ticket to the 2023 Nations League (VNL).
The Cubans defeated the Chileans with scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19 and were far superior to the Chileans in attack (53 points against 28) and service (11 aces to Chile's 6).
Now Nicolás Vives' team will have a rest day and then will face the winner of the match between Tunisia vs Czech Republic.
Against Chile the top scorers were opposite Jesus Herrera (16 points) and Miguel Angel Lopez (13 and 72 percent of effectiveness in attack).
According to the statistics of the Cubansp1ke specialized portal, the central Javier Concepción (9), Osniel Mergarejo (8), Roamy Alonso (6) and the passer Adrián Goide (1) also gave their contribution.
