Havana, August 3 (RHC).- Star Robertlandy Simón praised the performance of the Cuban team in the recent World Challenger in South Korea and considered that the current generation of Cuban volleyball players is almost ready to give "battle" to the best in the world.
"I think that three or four years from now those boys will be ready to give battle to the world," said Simón (35), who had to watch the Challenger matches from his residence in Havana, as he was unable to travel with the team due to contracting Covid-19.
"I gave my contribution and I will continue to give it, but I understand that I have less time left... because I see that they are ready to face (without my contribution) all the beautiful things that are coming," said the Santiago native, runner-up in the 2010 World Cup with the Cuban national team and owner of a luxury record in the Italian League, the best in the world.
