Third victory for Raidel Martinez in baseball in Japan
Havana, August 20 (RHC)-- Cuban Raidel Martinez scored his third victory in the Japan Professional Baseball League 2022 (NPB) on Friday.
The Pinar del Río pitched a perfect inning of relief in the victory of his Chunichi Dragons over the Yakult Swallows with a 4x3 score at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya.
The lanky pitcher fanned all three opponents he faced, left his record at 3-3, his ERA at 1.13 and his saves at 26.
His compatriot and teammate Yariel Rodríguez allowed one hit with no runs and gave up one ticket in one inning to improve his effectiveness to 1.60. Pedro Pablo Revilla went 3-1 to raise his average to .279.
On the same day, Alfredo Despaigne singled in three innings and drove in two runs in the 7x2 win of the SoftBank Falcons over the Nippon Ham Fighters at the Pay Pay Dome in Fukuoka.
The Granma slugger now has five games in a row with at least one hit, raising his average to .274 and his total of runs batted in to 18.
