Arlenis recovers from a fall and continues to shine in the Ardeche Tour

Havana, September 7 (ACN) - The star of Cuban cycling, Arlenis Sierra, resumes her competition calendar this Wednesday at the start of the Ceratizit Challenge in Spain with Movistar Team, favorite club to dominate the race.

Precisely this Wednesday will be a decisive day in the five-stage competition, where the Dutch Olympic and world champion, Annemiek van Vleuten, leader of Movistar Team, will defend the title won in 2021.

This Wednesday, a team time trial of almost 20 kilometers will be the key to a classification that could well be defined on the second day, the "queen", with 106 kilometers but five climbs, Movistar Team said on its official website.

Sierra, 29, will again be fundamental in the collective work in function of Van Vleuten's victory.

Early last May, also in Spain, Arlenis Sierra dominated from start to finish the first women's edition of the Vuelta a Andalucía, Ruta del Sol, in her debut season with Movistar Team.
