Teammate assures that missing baseball uniforms have already been shipped out

Havana, October 11 (ACN)-- With the presence of its president, Alessandro Tommasi, and executive director Rafael Llames, the Teammate Company, which sponsors the Cuban baseball and softball teams, held on Monday a meeting with specialized journalists at the Latin American stadium in Havana.

The subject of the exchange was the non-arrival in time in the country of the uniforms to be used by the teams enrolled in the First Elite League, which was scheduled to start on October 8 and is now waiting for those materials to make its debut.

Llames argued that on September 28 the first shipment arrived in Cuba in which it was considered that there was all the necessary clothing for the happy start of the League.

This process coincided with the arrival of hurricane Ian, and until the cyclone did not leave the open sea there was no possibility of verifying that only a part of the packages had arrived.

The executive director of Teammate pointed out that the entire production, some 4,612 kilograms of clothing, backpacks, briefcases and other means (250 packages), was manufactured in just 23 days, between August 25 and September 16, and said that as of September 20, deliveries began to Lantia Marítima S.L., in charge of the air transport of the cargo to Cuba.

Lantia has explained to us that due to the impact of Hurricane Ian in the Caribbean and the United States, the airlines have had to cancel flights and little by little they are reopening the spaces and giving exit to the cargoes delayed due to this situation, Llames said.

According to Llames commented to the aforementioned press organs, until all the details for the arrival of all the uniforms to Cuba are assured and confirmed, there will not be a new demonstration by his company. But he clarified that all the missing packages have already left by air to Cuba.

We will all learn from this unfortunate situation so that it does not happen again. Cuba is Teammate's main destination and we are sure that everything will be healed in time for the start of the 1st Elite League, said the manager.
