Cuba and Japan discuss baseball cooperation potentials

Tokyo, November 3 (PL)-- The vice president of the Cuban Baseball Federation, German Mesa, and the head of the Japanese counterpart organization, Masatake Yamanaka, exchanged opinions on potentialities for technical cooperation, informed the Antillean embassy in this capital.
Both parties referred to the current state of baseball in each country, the competitive level of their respective athletes and the prospects for the upcoming V World Classic, to be held in March 2023, said the press release.

They also discussed the historic bilateral baseball relations and the mutual contributions to the development of the sport.

The Caribbean representation at the meeting also included Cuban ambassador Miguel Ángel Ramírez, as well as professors Armando Johnson, Pedro Luis Lazo and Ricardo Eizméndiz, who together with Mesa concluded a training period in Japan.
