Havana, December 10 (RHC)-- Cuba's Arlen Lopez (80 kg) responded to expectations and conquered the scepter in the World Boxing Tour 2022 stop that ends today in the Mexican city of Guadalajara.
The double Olympic champion defeated Younes Memouchi of Algeria 5-0 to reach a top that also demanded him to pass in the semifinals over the Moroccan Mohamed Assaghir.
The culmination of this Saturday will host his compatriot and also two-time champion under the five rings Julio Cesar la Cruz (92 kg), who will fight for the crown against the host Carlos Antonio Rodriguez.
The event is one of those promoted by the International Boxing Association in order to expand its competitive calendar, but was below expectations in terms of the number of athletes.
