Elite League Baseball: Agricultores reaches 30 wins

Havana, December 22 (RHC)-- The leader Agricultores defeated Ganaderos on Wednesday and reached 30 wins in the continuation of the 1st Elite Baseball League, in a day of two games decided in the tenth inning and three home runs.
The farmers defeated the cattle ranchers in the tenth inning by five runs to two at the José Antonio Huelga stadium in Sancti Spíritus.
The winners opened the scoreboard in the top of the third inning, when they scored one run, added another in the fifth and in the tenth the three runs of success that broke the two-run tie in the bottom of the ninth.
The win went to reliever Alberto Pablo Civil (7-1), while Luis Alberto Marrero (0-3) took the loss.
Agricultores had 12 hits and made no defensive errors, while Ganaderos had one error and accumulated seven hits, including a home run by Leonel Moas, who batted 4-2.
The other game decided in 10 innings and played at the Augusto César Sandino stadium, was Centrales-Cafetaleros, won 7-6 by the former.
The Centrales accumulated 12 hits, including a home run by Pavel Quesada, and had no errors, while the Cafetaleros finished with 11 hits, with a home run by Michel Gorguet, and one error.
Renner Rivero (4-2), as the closer, got the win, while the setback went to Yendis Reyes (1-2), also a reliever.
Portuarios defeated Tabacaleros 2-1 at the Cristóbal Labra Stadium in Isla de la Juventud, where José Ignacio Bermudes (4-1) won and Dorvis Lornet Navarro (4-4) lost.
In total, there were 18 hits, eight for the harbor workers and 10 for the tobacco growers, in a game in which no errors were committed.
With these results, Agricultores (30-17) remains comfortably at the top of the standings, followed by Portuarios and Centrales (25-23), which displaced Tabacaleros (24-23) from second place, followed by Ganaderos (19-27) and Cafetaleros (18-28), in that order.
