Havana, February 8 (RHC) -- The president of Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Osvaldo Vento Montiller is developing a broad work agenda in Venezuela, as part of a visit aimed at strengthening ties in sports.
The publication Jit, associated to INDER, reported on its Twitter profile that on Wednesday morning, the official held a meeting with the president of the Pan American Baseball Confederation (Copabe), Araceli León. He was accompanied by the national baseball commissioner of the largest Antillean island, Juan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo.
The press also pointed out that the main topic of the exchange was the deepening of baseball development.
The day before, Vento Montiller met with the governor of the state of Miranda, Héctor Rodríguez, with whom he discussed the sports results achieved and the potentialities in that sphere.
According to Jit, both leaders discussed how to achieve, through Cuban collaboration, the incorporation of new trainers in the necessary sports in that region.
On October 30, 2000, Commanders Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) signed the Cuba-Venezuela Integral Collaboration Agreement, and since its implementation, this strategic mechanism has had an impact on the health, education, economy, sports and culture sectors.
