Havana, February 16 (ACN) - Cuban triple jumpers Liadagmis Povea and Leyanis Perez had outstanding performances at the athletic meeting in Lievin, France, where they achieved personal bests in indoor competitions.

Povea, a fifth-place Olympian at Tokyo-2020, stretched to 14.81 to win the event, while Leyanis Perez, winner of the Cali-Valley 2021 Youth Games, was second with 14.65 meters.

The Lievin meeting was a World Athletics Indoor Tour gold medal event.

It was the fourth time in the winter campaign that Povea, 27, and Perez, 21, went 1-2 in a competition.

Povea improved on last January's 14.64m in Karlsruhe, Germany, which was her previous lifetime best, while Perez surpassed the 14.48m achieved a week ago in Mondeville, France.

In Lievin, far behind Cuba's triple jumpers, Ukraine's Maryna Beck-Romanchuk (14.01 m) finished third.

Also in Lievin, the long jumper Maykel Massó finished fourth, with 7.94 meters, in an event won by the Greek Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglu with a good mark of 8.41.
