Havana - Estela dropped 2-3 sets in her opener against Dominican Shary Munoz and then defeated Trinidadian Priyanka Khellawan 3-0 to secure her place among the top 16 in her age group in this competition.

Her next opponent in the main draw also reached the next stage as second in her pool, dominated by Dominican Cinthia Peña with a pair of successes.

If she wins in the round of sixteen, the Cuban would face Cinthia, who is seeded at the bottom of the draw.

On the other hand, Shary, also from the Dominican Republic, will be seeded in the round of 16, awaiting the winner of the duel between Jamaicans Tsenaye Lewis and Liana Campbell.

Cuba did not present any contestant in the men's segment of this category, nor in the under-15 age group.

The competition is held after the one dedicated to adults, in which Cuba participated with full teams and secured tickets for the Pan American Games of Santiago 2023.
