Havana, May 5 (RHC)-- Cuba will be present at the U21 Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup in Nogales 2023, Mexico, scheduled for May 21st thru 29th.
The team is made up of Claudia Tarin and Thainalien Castillo from Granma, both attackers-receivers; Yensy Kindelan and Lisania Grafort from Santiago de Cuba as middle blockers and opposite Yalain Regla de la Peña from the capital, who were in foreign leagues this year.
The team is completed by passers Brenda Mía Ferrer (Havana), Lisbeisy Hernández and Martha García from Pinar del Río; libero Yamilena Ruiz (Holguín), center back Edisleidys Reyes (Camagüey) and corner attackers Salet Castillo (Pinar del Río) and Whitney James (Havana), captain of the team.
The latter were part of the team that won the silver medal in the U-23 tournament of the V ALBA Games of Venezuela 2023.

The Pan American senior and U-21 cups, and the Norceca final four and final six tournaments.
Wilfredo Robinson will lead the team, assisted by Rogelio Goytizolo. Osvaldo Martínez, national methodologist, physiotherapist José Ramón Barrizonte and international referee José Gilberto Pardo are also part of the delegation.
"This Pan American Cup is a qualifier for next year's U21 world championship and will serve our team as preparation for the 2023 world championship to be held in Mexico from August 17 to 26," explained methodologist Martínez to the JIT publication.
