Havana, May 22 (ACN) - Guided by veteran Alberto Bisset, the Santiago de Cuba team beat Guantanamo 7-1, became the first to reach 30 victories and kept the top of the National Baseball Series, which closed the tenth particular sub-series.

Bisset, a 39-year-old right-handed pitcher, left the stands of the Van Troi stadium speechless with an 8.0 innings pitching performance, with three strikeouts and only one hit allowed to reach his fifth success of the tournament without the shadow of a setback.

 Right-hander Yunieski García consolidated his position as leader in wins (7) by throwing 8.2 innings with six singles and two runs batted in.

In other results, Ciego de Avila defeated the national runner-up Matanzas 4-0, Granma defeated Las Tunas (3-2) and Sancti Spíritus defeated Cienfuegos 2-1. Based on pitching, Industriales beat Holguin (2-1, 6-0) and Villa Clara did the same with Camagüey (4-3, 2-0).

At the end of the tenth subseries of 15 scheduled in the baseball calendar, Santiago de Cuba (30-19) leads, followed by Mayabeque (29-20), Artemisa (28-20), Matanzas (27-22), Holguín (26-23), Sancti Spíritus (25-23) and Ciego de Ávila (24-23).
