Havana, June 29 (RHC)-- Diorges Escobar won his third gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, where Cuban gymnasts had three representatives on the podium on Wednesday.

In the fixed bar Escobar won with 13.800 points, followed by Dominican Audrys Nin (13.100) and Puerto Rican Andres Perez (12.850).

The other Cuban in the final, Pablo Pozo, with 12.150 finished fifth among the eight competitors.

Pozo competed minutes after being runner-up in the parallel bars, with 13.800.

Earlier, Yohendry Villaverde won the silver medal in the vaulting horse with 14.150 units.

These individual results in different apparatuses ratify the brilliance of the new generation of Cuban gymnasts, who had already celebrated a gold medal for Escobar on Monday and for the men's team (with Escobar's presence) on Saturday, in both cases in the all-around events, the most complete of this sport.
