Havana, August 13 (JIT) -- A heartfelt tribute was paid this Friday by the Cuban sports family to the Major Athlete, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, in a special morning ceremony held at the Sports City Coliseum.
This August 13, the 97th anniversary of the birthday of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution brought together workers and directors led by Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of Inder.
During the activity, videos allegorical to Fidel, a lover of sports, especially basketball and baseball, and others related to women were shown, since the Federation of Cuban Women will celebrate its 63rd anniversary on August 23.
Vento Montiller led the presentation of the Rafael María de Mendive Medal, awarded by the National Union of Education, Science and Sports Workers, to Yoselín Ramiro, Isabel de Armas, Dionisia Alcántara and Mercedes Araújo, in recognition of their labor and professional merits accumulated in years of work.
On behalf of the honorees, Yoselín said that this is a recognition that commits them to the legacy of Fidel and Vilma Espín, founder of the FMC, and to the development of the Cuban Sports System.
The occasion was also the occasion to present the membership card of the Communist Party of Cuba to Denitse Lozano, a worker of the International Relations Directorate of Inder with an outstanding labor and political career.
Vento was accompanied by the secretary of the PCC in the organization, Willian Guillian, and the secretary of the trade union bureau, Lázara Pérez.
The artistic-sports moment of the morning was in charge of the Cascabelito group and the Cuban women's poomsae team that will attend the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023.
