Havana, September 27 (JIT) - Cuba's Ariel Martinez singled in four innings and scored a run in the Nippon Ham Fighters' 7x0 win over the Lotte Marinos in a Japan Professional Baseball League game.

Ariel stopped a streak of 20 consecutive innings without a hit.

He now holds his average at .249 and increased his total hits to 38, with 22 doubles, 15 home runs and 64 runs batted in.

Another news related to the NPB has to do with Cuban Pedro Pablo Revilla, who concluded his contract with the Chunichi Dragons and left the country early and did not return to Cuba.

Revilla, from the province of Guantanamo, had been chosen by Industriales as a reinforcement for the next Elite League and his place will now be taken by Cristian Rodriguez from Villaclare, according to the capital's mentor Guillermo Carmona.
