Havana, November 4 (PL) -- Cuban Gabriel Rosillo repeated today his reign in the 97 kilograms of Greco wrestling at the Pan American Games of Santiago 2023, as he did four years ago in Lima.
The brand new champion of the orb defeated Venezuelan Luillys Perez nine points to one for the gold medal.
Perez dominated the first half 1-0, although he could not take advantage when he had the Cuban in passive position, and paid for it in the second half, in which his rival got a pass back and unbalance and then in a similar situation increased the advantage.
One of the bronze medals in this weight went to the Honduran veteran Kevin Mejia, who beat the American Josef Rau 7-2.
Completing the awards podium was Brazil's Igor Alves, who defeated Argentina's Ricardo Gomez 7-0 at the Olympic Training Center.
