Havana, November 11 (JIT)-- The third edition of the Premier12 baseball tournament will be held from November 10 to 24, 2024, with the A group as a great novelty in a country of America to be defined.

The B key will open at the Nagoya Dome, home of the Chunichi Dragons of the Japanese Professional Baseball League (NPB), on November 13. The city of Taipei will host the rest of the games through November 18.

The Tokyo Dome will host the tournament's super round from November 21-23 between the top three finishers in each group. The medal games are scheduled for November 24.

"After two extremely successful editions in 2015 and 2019, we are looking forward to the third edition next year with some great cities and venues thanks to our phenomenal hosts and partners," commented World Baseball Softball-Softball Confederation president Riccardo Fraccari.

Japan will host the most important games of the WBSC's flagship baseball event for the third consecutive time. NPB Commissioner Sadayuki Sakakibara said, "It is a great honor and pleasure to host the Premier12 in Japan for three consecutive times. I believe NPB can contribute to the development of baseball in the world, fully demonstrating the attractiveness of our sport."

The top 12 baseball programs in the WBSC world rankings on December 31, 2023 will participate in the third Premier12, with six teams divided into each opening round group.

Following the most recent ranking update, Japan, Mexico, the United States, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Australia and Puerto Rico are ranked, in that order.
