Havana, December 27 (JIT) -- The semifinals of the II Elite League of Cuban Baseball will begin on January 6 in Matanzas, leader of the qualifying phase already reinforced with two new figures, as well as the rest of the contenders for the crown.
This Wednesday, in the Assembly Hall of the Havana Sports City Coliseum, the technical meeting for the play offs and the request for reinforcements took place, in addition to the exchange with the specialized press.
Matanzas acquired the services of Yordan Manduley (SCU, infielder) and Wilber Reyna (SCU, pitcher). Artemisa requested Fréderich Cepeda (SSP, outfielder) and Albert Valladares (SSP, pitcher). Industriales will have Yaniesky Duardo (SSP, pitcher) and José Luis Gutiérrez (SCU, outfielder), and Las Tunas will have Yosiel Serrano (SCU, pitcher) and Juan Carlos Arencibia (SSP, infielder).
Carlos Martín, methodologist in charge of the event, emphasized a series of aspects included in the regulations, due to their importance... The games will have no time limit and each team may use a maximum of 27 players. The Schiller Rule will be applied for tiebreakers starting in the tenth inning.
The games shall be sealed for any cause that prevents their completion, whether official or unofficial.
