Pinar del Rio, January 3 (ACN)-- Cuban triple jumper Leyanis Perez dreams of surpassing 15 meters (m) in 2024, a barrier that does not seem impossible for the one who during the best season of her life waged a constant battle against herself and showed her grit.

"I am below two centimeters and with training -more than I did this year-, good shape and improving my technique I think I will achieve that goal and reach a medal at the Olympic Games in Paris", assured the Pinar del Río native to the Cuban News Agency, recently selected among the 10 best athletes of the year in Cuba.

With a view to that event, she explained that her preparation will focus on correcting mistakes, so she hopes to arrive at that event in good shape to improve her personal best of 14.98 m achieved at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, "my goal since I started in the sport," she said.

"I will also have in 2024 the World Indoor Championships (in Glasgow, UK) and I hope I can enjoy what another world medal feels like and beat my 14.65m record there," the 21-year-old athlete highlighted.
